Violating The Catholic Conscience

Today, 1 out of 5 people in this country receive their medical care at a Catholic hospital. Today, the Catholic Church teaches 3 million students a day in its more than 250 Catholic Colleges and Universities, 1,200 Catholic High Schools, and 5,000 Catholic grade schools in the USA. Every day, the Catholic Church feeds, clothes, shelters and educates more people than any other organization in the world.

The new Obama Health Mandate could end all this. We have a president who, for the first time in U.S. history, is directly assaulting the First Amendment and Freedom of Religion. Once again, this administration is on the wrong side of our Constitution.

If the Catholic Church closes parochial schools where will those students be educated? They will merge with students in the public school system. If Catholic hospitals and institutions were to close its doors, where will those patients go for medical treatment?  The sick will be treated in public facilities. AND who will foot the bill? We will. AND where will we get the funds? Shrug, shrug...as we are already financially overburdened. Also, all Catholic adoption services would come to an end. A human disaster.

This is not an idle threat. It is reality. Catholics devoted to the true teachings of Christ cannot consent to abortion in any form. Catholics devoted to the true teachings of Christ know they will stand before God and answer to Him for whom we vote into office and what issues upon which we stand firm. The Sanctity of Life is not negotiable as well as the dispensing of abortifacient drugs, artificial birth control and providing sterilization.

Cardinal Francis George of Chicago predicts that Catholic Hospitals will be gone in "Two Lents" under Obamacare regulations. The Catholic Church in the United States is being told that it must give up its health care operations, according to the cardinal. "Catholic hospitals, universities and social services have an institutional conscience, a conscience shaped by Catholic moral and social teaching" said Cardinal George. "The HHS regulations now before our society will make it impossible for Catholic institutions to follow their conscience." If the HHS regulations are not rescinded there will be few choices.  The sobering truth? Pay for practices they consider immoral, hire and serve only Catholics or Close down. This will leave millions of Americans with insufficient services and will also put their health in dire jeopardy.

Statistics anyone?  Catholic hospitals serve: 16.6% on Medicare, 13.65% on Medicaid which is one in six seniors and disabled patients as well as one in eight low-income patients. 32% of these patients live in areas with few options for health care. They lead in breast cancer screening, nutrition programs, trauma, geriatric services, and social work. In many cases, they accept payment as full from Medicaid. Force Obamacare on the Catholic Church and 400+ health centers and 1,500 specialized homes will dissolve like Alka-Seltzer. Our current system will have to absorb almost $100 BILLION in costs each year. The Fiscal Times.

As a result, the Catholic Church in the United States is being told that it must give up its health care operations, according to the cardinal. “Catholic hospitals, universities and social services have an institutional conscience, a conscience shaped by Catholic moral and social teaching,” said Cardinal George. “The HHS regulations now before our society will make it impossible for Catholic institutions to follow their conscience.” - See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/cardinal-george-catholic-hospitals-will-be-gone-two-lents-under-obamacare-regulation#sthash.c2fv73FH.dpuf

There are more than 77 million Catholics in this country. It takes an estimated 50 million Catholic votes to elect a president. Please, for God's sake (literally), go to the polls in 2014 and be united in replacing all Senators and Reps with someone who will respect the Catholic Church, all Christians, and all Religions besides Islam.

Obama said, "The USA is not a Christian Nation." He is wrong- we are a Christian Nation founded on Judeo-Christian values allowing all religions in America to Worship and Practice Freely. Something Islam will never do.

Disposable Babies

     Aborted Babies

Found In Dumpster

How is this allowed? What has society come to? There would be hell to pay if these were kittens or puppies...why are human beings, the most vulnerable, the most innocent, treated so callously? God have mercy on us!

Warning: The following statement discusses details that are disturbing.
Right to Life of Michigan was shocked and saddened to learn that bodies of 17 aborted babies were found thrown into a common dumpster at a Lansing-area abortion business. The babies were found on February 26, 2010, which led to an investigation by the Michigan Attorney General and the Eaton and Saginaw counties sheriff departments.
Right to Life of Michigan Legislative Director Ed Rivet said, “When the discovery was made known to Right to Life of Michigan, we offered advice as to current Michigan laws and processes for engaging law enforcement officials regarding a necessary investigation. We are appreciative that the sheriffs of Eaton and Saginaw counties, along with the state Attorney General and Eaton County prosecutor took this case seriously and conducted a thorough investigation. The fact that human remains and medical records were callously and carelessly tossed in the trash calls for something to be done.”

There is a convoluted set of legal facts in this particular case that may or may not result in any serious charges, penalties or fines being rendered. But clearly Michigan laws need to be updated so that the horrible practice of dumping the bodies of aborted babies into trash cans is not allowed to continue.
Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, “For nearly four years, Right to Life of Michigan has been advocating for the passage of state legislation that would prohibit aborted baby bodies from being disposed of in either the trash or being ground up and flushed into the sanitary sewer system. Such practices are common in the abortion industry and the time has come for them to end.”
Right to Life of Michigan commends State Representatives Joe Haveman, Darwin Booher, Rick Jones, and Bob Genetski for taking the lead on legislation to bring dignity and respect to the memory of these tiny members of the human family whose lives have been tragically taken.

Opposing Abortions On Military Bases

Military Doctors Sign Letter Opposing Abortions On Military Bases

This article and other Pro-Life News can be found atNational Right To Life Committee (Choose Life Newspaper)

A letter to the U.S. Senate protesting an amendment requiring U.S. military hospitals to provide abortions was signed by more than 200 military doctors. The letter was organized by the Christian Medical Association (CMA).
Pro-abortion Senator Roland Burris (D/Illinois) sponsored the amendment which would break the current long-standing policy of not allowing abortions at military medical facilities.
The letter urged senators to vote no on the National Defense Authorization Act unless the Burris amendment is removed.
The senior vice-president of CMA, Gene Rudd, M.D. emphasized that, “If enacted, requiring military physicians to perform abortions threatens military readiness. Morale will suffer among those already serving. Morale is a key component of military effectiveness.”
“Furthermore,” Dr. Rudd pointed out, “just as we have seen a marked decrease in young doctors entering OB/GYN training for fear of being forced to do abortion, this requirement will discourage young doctors from joining the military.”
The Senate Armed Services Committee approved the amendment 15-12, with all 11 Republicans plus Democratic Senator Ben Nelson voting against it. Senator Roger Wicker (R/MS), who fought against the amendment in committee, is planning to sponsor an amendment of the Senate floor to strike the language.

Don't be Hoodwinked: Pro-Life vs Obama's Health Care

MANHATTAN DECLARATION: PRO-LIFE NEWS

In an attempt to quell the outrage of pro-lifers that taxpayer dollars might be used to pay for abortion, President Obama signed an Executive Order on March 24, 2010, “to ensure that Federal funds are not used for abortion services.” The president's Executive Order did not satisfy pro-life groups, however. In fact, as the pro-life Family Research Council noted, the "uselessness" of the executive order was one of the few things that FRC and Planned Parenthood agreed on during the health care debate.

The National Right to Life Committee says that on June 28th, Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Joel Ario (appointed by Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell) issued a press release announcing that the federal Health and Human Services Department had approved his agency's proposal for establishing a high-risk health insurance pool in Pennsylvania

The National Right To Life (NRLC) noted that the Pennsylvania plan's section on abortion – found on page 14 of the plan -- says "elective abortions are not covered." But NRLC called that statement a "red herring”, because the operative language does not define 'elective.’

The Pennsylvania plan says it includes “only abortions and contraceptives that satisfy the requirements of (Pennsylvania law),” and it specifically refers to 18 Pa.C.S. § 3204-3206 and 35 P.S. §§10101, 10103-10105. The most pertinent law, according to NRLC, is 18 Pa. C.S. § 3204, which says that an abortion is legal in Pennsylvania if a single physician believes that it is “necessary” based on “all factors (physical, emotional, psychological, familial and the woman's age) relevant to the well-being of the woman.”

NRLC noted that Pennsylvania law bans abortion prior to 24 weeks, only if it is being done "solely because of the sex of the unborn child. Therefore, given the way the guidelines are written, under the Pennsylvania plan, “federal funds will subsidize coverage of abortion performed for any reason, except sex selection," said NRLC's Johnson.

“The Pennsylvania proposal conspicuously lacks language that would prevent funding of abortions performed as a method of birth control or for any other reason, except sex selection -- and the Obama Administration has now approved this," Johnson said. Susan Jones, Senior Ed at CNSNews.com 7/15/10
